Monday, 26th Dec 2022 Las Vegas – 3rd Jan 2023 CES® and 5th – 8th Jan 2023 CES: Aeterlink, a Tokyo-based-tech startup spun out from Stanford University, will announce “AirPlug™” which is the world’s first complete “WPT” (Wireless Power Transfer) system on a practical level. We have been engaged in research of medical implant devices such as cardiac pacemakers to solve disease that cannot be cured by medicine. We achieved the smallest pacemaker, which is one-thousand size to conventional one, and can be fully-wirelessly powered from outside body to inside body. Aeterlink will continue those research and apply to several business.

Aeterlink CEO Ryo Iwasa said,“AirPlug™ has already been successfully implemented in a large corporate office in Japan, wirelessly transferring all the sensors.

Airborne power transmission over up to 65 feet is unheard of new technology, and we are thrilled to introduce this innovative technology at CES 2023.”
AirPlugTM Details:
AirplugTM consists of three products which are AirplugTM Power Tx, AirplugTM sense, and data aggregation system AirPlugTM Sumit.

  • Extremely high efficiency at entire space as the ultra-small device
  • No angle dependence and available the power supply even in motion
  • As outcome, AirPlug™ can reduce more than 5% CO2 with health care solution.

AirPlug™ system is consist of 1st: Power-Tx which can transmit 1W energy with 920MHz and 2nd: AirPlug sensor which can convert microwave energy to electric energy to sense and send back environmental data to Sumit™ and 3rd: Sumit™ which can receive bunch of data from Airplug™ sensors.
Aeterlink use those products to achieve both carbon neutral (5% more carbon reduction) and health care (reduce human stress 250%).

AirPlug™ Environmental sensors using WPT (wireless power transfer) are an innovative solution that does not require battery replacement and greatly reduces them. Without wires, environmental sensors can acquire much more accurate environmental data since the sensors can be installed closer to occupants. Additionally, changing the layout of sensors or devices becomes much easier if free from wires. By installing sensors for each individual seat, air conditioning and lighting can be automatically managed, which can be expected to reduce electricity bills by up to 30% compared to conventional systems, while also reducing environmental impact and contributing to the SDGs. Furthermore, optimal solutions for optimal office building environments can be studied by visualizing human flow and dead space through the acquisition of environmental, human sensory data, and changing the layout of sensors or devices becomes much easier if free from wires.
