2023年7月21日(金)、『FDSF Global Conference 2023』開催が決定

一般社団法人科学と金融による未来創造によるイニシアティブ（英名｜Future Design Initiative by Science and Finance、以下略称｜FDSF）は、7月21日（金）に丸ビルホール＆コンファレンススクエアにおいて『FDSF Global Conference 2023』を開催いたします。また本カンファレンスへの参加事前申し込みを、Peatixにて開始いたします。

FDSFは昨年７月、サステイナブルファイナンスによるアカデミアへの新たな資金循環を促すことを目的にアカデミア、スタートアップ、アセットオーナー、アセットマネージャー、VC、事業会社、政府関係者の方々などをお招きして『FDSF Conference 2022』を開催し、合計約250名の方々に参加いただきました。

第二回目となる本年は、グローバルな視点を取り入れるべく海外からのスピーカーもご招待し、最先端のインパクト投資やESG投資を含むサステイナブルファイナンスや大学発研究開発型｜DeepTechスタートアップのエコシステム作り、アカデミアと事業会社によるオープンイノベーションに関する知見を共有いただきます。アカデミアへの新たな資金循環を促すために、金融と科学、人材育成、国家レベルでの方向性まで深く議論します。また本分野における人づくりや未来への投資｜オープンなエコシステムの形成をさらに後押しすべく、ご参加の皆さまによる交流の機会を提供いたします。

Last July, FDSF held the “FDSF Conference 2022”, inviting academia, startups, asset owners and

managers, VCs, industrial companies, and government officials with the aim of using sustainable

finance to promote a new financial cycle in the academia field. A total of about 250 people attended

the conference.

For the second edition, we have invited speakers from abroad to share their views on sustainable

finance, which spans topics such as cutting-edge impact and ESG investments, as well as the creation of an ecosystem of university-launched R&D and Deep Tech startups. We will embark on in-depth

discussions regarding the direction of finance and science, human resource development, and national level initiatives, to stimulate a new flow of funds to academia. We will also provide an opportunity for

participants to interact with each other, in the hope of encouraging and forming an open ecosystem.

This conference aims to create a place where people can come together and deepen their mutual

understanding to achieve FDSF’s mission, which is “to seamlessly create economic and social value

through sustainable finance and contribute to the updating of society.” During the July 2022

conference, many people expressed their support for the importance of discussing and thinking about science in tandem with finance. This year’s conference will take a more global perspective, and will

cover topics such as socially integrating technology to cope with climate change, expanding human

resources in the field of sustainable finance, as well as highlighting examples of collaboration between

industry and academia. We hope that the discussions during the event will lead to further development of the world through use of Japanese wisdom and technology. Thank you for your continued support

What is sustainability? In textbook terms, it can be described as a state of dynamic equilibrium

between environmental, social and economic systems in a sustainable manner, but we believe that

there are further implications which exceed human society – especially Japanese society. When

sustainability is interpreted as a shared experience in which humanity transcends the existing

framework of everyday life and identity as a nation to reach a consensus, it may provide an

opportunity to remove the insular society and avoidance of essential change that have come to

characterize Japan’s “Lost 30 Years.” Archetype Ventures, which has been investing in and supporting start-ups that tackle social issues, will also establish a new fund in 2023 and actively engage in these

activities. We look forward to working with you to achieve and accelerate sustainability transformation via technology and finance.

(3) David Ashton, Head of Tokyo Office, Brunswick Group

Society has become increasingly aware of the inevitability of sustainability, i.e. the sustainability of the planet and society. At the same time, there is a growing recognition that it is important for nations and companies to work together with their stakeholders, rather than independently, to achieve

sustainability. Japan has a significant role to play in the sustainability of global society, and it is

important to build cooperative relationships with foreign companies, wider society, investors, academia, and other stakeholders. Brunswick Group has been advising companies on key issues where business, politics and society are intertwined, which includes sustainability. Through this conference, we hope

that the citizens of Japan will engage in further dialogue with stakeholders and contribute to

sustainability within Japanese society.
