株式会社ギオン アンド パシフィック ホールディングス（代表取締役社長 リー・ロングショー。以下GPH）は、1月25日に静岡市で行われた静岡県の起業支援プロジェクト「TOMOLプロジェクト」最終発表会（デモデイ）において、Web5ユーティリティ・マーケットプレイスである「iBX Direct（アイビーエックス・ダイレクト）」（*1、*2）を試行的にローンチしました。
「iBX Direct」は、シームレスなクローズドループのユーティリティ取引プラットフォームで、QRコード決済を含め、消費者が日常的に使いやすいデザインを旨としています。一方、生産者は新たにデジタルを通じて収益化を図れるようになります。この日のローンチでは、現地のクラフトジンやクラフトビールの店がこの日限りでマーケットプレイスに出店し、参加者はQRコードを使って商品と交換しました。
若き起業家を育成するTOMOLプロジェクト・デモデイのパートナーとしてiBX Directを提供したことは、ユーティリティ・マーケットプレイスのパイオニアたる当社にとっても門出にふさわしい場となりました。GPH創業者のリー・ロングショーは、「『消費者主導のデジタル経済』というビジョンを実現する」と話しています。
今回ソフトローンチしたiBX Directですが、今後は、出店店舗をさらに増やしていくほか、消費者・出店者それぞれにとって使いやすさを高めていくためさらに洗練させていきます。
なお、iBX Directは、GPHのパートナー企業である株式会社ACSHU（アクシュ）による卓越した技術力のもとで実現しました。

Trial launch of Japan’s first Web5 Utility Marketplace “iBX Direct”: A step forward towards a consumer-driven digital economy
Gion & Pacific Holdings Ltd (hereafter GPH: CEO & Founder Lee Longshaw) held a trial launch of “iBX Direct”, Web5 Utility Marketplace, at Demo Day, the final pitch presentations by the TOMOL project participants, a project fostering entrepreneurship in Shizuoka on the 25th January.
iBX Direct is a seamless closed-loop Utility transaction platform which is designed to be consumer-friendly for everyday use including QR-code payment. It also enables producers to monetize surplus product digitally. At this trial launch, local vendors and producers of craft beer and craft gin had stalls and participants could exchange them using the QR code.
Showcasing iBX at the TOMOL Project Demo Day as a partner, sharing the spirit of fostering young entrepreneurs, was an optimal debut for iBX Direct. Lee Longshaw, founder of GPH aims to “realize the “consumer-driven digital economy”
Having made a soft-launch, iBX Direct aims to increase more participating vendors and also finesse the usability of the application itself for both consumers and producers.
The iBX Direct mobile application was developed in collaboration with Acshu Co. Ltd, a Japan-based technology company and a partner of GPH.
